An ancient Indian myth holds that not only the waters of the sacred Ganges have healing powers but that even a gentle breeze carrying the vapors of its waves can cleanse the soul of all sinful deeds.

The Kumbh melas attracts an incredible number of people. They are impressive demonstration of the unshakeable faith of Hindus in the holy bath as the means of washing away one’s sins and of purifying the soul.
 
The Kumbh Mela is the meeting of sacred man, gurus, traveling monks and religious people, a large meeting where the immense energies of the great currents of the Universe and human endeavors flow in to the Saraswati – the river of learning and wisdom.

Day 1 - LJUBLJANA – NEW DELHI

Arrival to New Delhi, transfer to hotel.

Day 2 - NEW DELHI

After breakfast guided sightseeing of Delhi. Visit old Delhi market Chandini Chowk. In 17th Century this was the meeting point of the caravans. Here is Red Fort and Raj Ghat where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. In the new part of Delhi visit Qutub Minar 72 m high tower of Persian rulers. Government palaces, embassy quarters and temple Birla Laxmi Narayan. Among the ruins of Quwut-ul-Islam Mosque  
standsan iron pillar that has resisted the weather for over 1500 years. Drive past astronomical observatory Jantar-Mantar in to shopping center. Overnight in New Delhi.

Day 3 - DELHI / VARANASI

After breakfast transfer to the airport for flight to Varanasi (Benares). Varanasi lies at the left bank of the River Ganges and it is the holiest city in India and center of learning for the last 2000 years, probably the oldest town in the world. Free afternoon to stroll in the old town. Overnight in Varanasi.

Day 4 - VARANASI

At sunrise go for a cruise on the Ganges in front of the main baths to see pilgrims at their ritual bathing. Cruise by ancient temples like the Nepalese Temple of Love and Aurangzeb Mosque. Free time for shopping and in afternoon visit Sarnath. After attaining enlightenment at Bodh Gaya the Buddha went to Sarnath; and it was here that he preached his first discourse in the deer park to set in motion the 'Wheel of the Dharma'. The Dhamekha stupa is considered to be the sacred place where the voice of Buddhism was first heard. In the third century BC Ashoka erected a column 15.24 m in height which had four lions as its capital the four-lion capital was adopted as the emblem of the modern Indian republic.Overnight in Varanasi.

Day 5 - VARANASI / ALLAHABAD

After breakfast drive to Prayag, one of the ancient pilgrimage centers of India, and it represents the confluence of the Yamuna and Ganga rivers, near the city of Allahabad. Tradition regards the region between the Ganga and the Yamuna as the most fertile region on earth. In the afternoon visit pilgrims tent city that lies at the confluence of the 3 rivers: Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati. The biggest religious fair in the world was visited by more pilgrims than Rome and Meka together. Overnight in Allahabad.

Day 6 - ALLAHABAD.

Spend the day in The Most Important Hindu Spiritual Gathering and have a chance to meet the holy saints, ash-smeared sadhus. The most attractive are Sadhus from the order of Naga Babas, devotees of Lord Shiva, the holy worriers, destroyers of illusions and lies, and protectors of Hinduism through centuries. Overnight in Allahabad.

Day 7 - ALLAHABAD / KHAJURAHO

Morning transfer to airport for your flight to Khajuraho, which has the largest group of medieval Hindu temples famous for their erotic sculpture built in 950 AD. Afternoon free at your own pace. Overnight in Khajuraho.

Day 8 - KHAJURAHO

After breakfast visit the fascinating temples of Khajuraho, India's unique gift of love to the world, and represent the expression of a highly mature civilization. Also, they are UNESCO world heritage site. Originally there were 85 temples, of which only 22 still exist. Overnight in Khajuraho.

Day 9- KHAJURAHO / ORCHHA

After breakfast bus drive to Orchha, meaning a "hidden place” certainly lives up to its name. Architectural gems, however, abound in this town. Clustered around the foot of the exotic ruins, a sleepy village of neatly painted houses, market stalls, and a couple of attractive government hotels provide most of the basic amenities. Overnight in Orchha.

Day 10- ORCHHA / JHANSI / AGRA by train

Morning sightseeing of this "hidden place". City lies on the banks of the River Betwa and is the former capital of the Bundela dynasty. Orchha's single most admired palace, the Jehangir Mahal, was built by Bir Singh Deo as a monumental welcome present for the Mughal emperor Jehangir when he paid a state visit in the 17th century. In afternoon enjoy an interesting experience with a short travel on an Indian train to Agra where we stay overnight.

Day 11 - AGRA - Fatehpur - Sikri / JAIPUR

Morning will be dedicated to famous Taj Mahal one of the 10 wonders of the world, silent monument of the glory of the Mughal Emperor in the 17th century and it is a world heritage site like the Fatehpur – Sikri. Built during the second half of the 16th century by the Emperor Akbar, Fatehpur Sikri (the City of Victory) was the capital of the Mughal Empire for only some 10 years. Overnight in the heart of Rajestan in Jaipur.

Day 12 - JAIPUR

Start sightseeing of Amber Palace riding the elephant.  Amber Palace is a classic fusion of Mughal and Hindu architecture, built in red sandstone and white marble. The palace or the royal apartments lie inside the massive Amber fort complex with gateways, gardens, halls, stairways, pillared pavilions, temples and palaces. In the afternoon visit Jaipur, the capital of Rajestan the Pink City. City Palace with museum and gardens, the old observatory. Jaipur is noted for its craftsmen skilled in the art of cutting precious stones and famed for its garnets and rubies. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 13 - JAIPUR / PUSHKAR

Easy drive through Rajestan country side to Pushkar, the birthplace of Bramha and the only temple to Brahma in the world. 
 

Day 14 - PUSHKAR

Pushkar is famous for Pushkar Lake and the 14 century temple to Brahma, the Hindu god of creation. This is the only temple of the god Brahma in the world. It is also famous for its annual Pushkar Camel Fair. No pilgrimage of Hindu places is considered complete without the pilgrim bathes in sacred waters of  
Pushkara. Visit the city, ride camels and shop till you drop. Overnight in Pushkar.

Day 15 - PUSHKAR / DELHI

Transfer to the airport in New Delhi for late flight home. Arrive to Ljubljana on 27 January at noon.
